Best of Expo West ~ Simply Vegan Style

Last weekend was insane! My feet are sore, my arms are sore, my tummy is sore.. wait, is that a bad thing? 😉 But it was all worth it because I got to attend the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, California! I went two of the days and still wasn’t even able to see all of the convention!

I am strongly convinced this year was way bigger than last year. There were so many more visitors and vendors. I lost the people I was with on several occasions!

Oh.. and Bonus Points.. I got this awesome caricature done!

But now.. time for the fun part! These are my favorite products that I came across while at the convention. Some are new, some are not. But all of these products were new and exciting for me!

(In no particular order)

Larabar’s ReNola

I made a bet with my friend before we went to the convention on whether or not this granola would have oats in them.. and I won! Larabar is coming out with a granola that is grain-free! I particularly don’t care for oats so I was so excited to see this! Instead, the granola includes nuts, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds.. yum!

From what I saw, there will be two flavors; Berry and Cinnamon Nut. The representative said to keep an eye out for them as soon as June!

Love Bean’s Superfood Fudge Sauce

I can’t give this fudge sauce good enough reviews! It is amazing! Not too sweet yet tastes just like fudge! It is sweetened with coconut palm sugar which is one of the few sugars I will use to make recipes with. You can put this on almond milk icecream, fruit, or just eat it straight out of the packet! (Which was my favorite way to enjoy it).

To find some of your own superfood fudge sauce, check out Love Bean’s website here!

2 Degrees Food Bars

Want to try a bar that is super yummy and feeds a hungry child at the same time? This bar is right up your alley! I wish nothing but the best for amazing companies like Two Degrees that work to help a cause by selling their products. For every bar they sell, they provide a meal to a hungry child in developing countries. Not to mention, I tried a copious amount of energy bars at the convention and these were the best by far! They are vegan and gluten-free plus have delicious ingredients that you don’t find in most bars like quinoa and chia. My favorite was the Chocolate Peanut because who doesn’t love that combo?!

You can search for a place that sells 2 Degrees bars or order them online here.

About the Author:

I’ve been living around the world for several years now. I’ve already experienced the oriental lifestyle of China, vibrant culture of Barcelona, shabby to chic of Paris, Confucian ways of the Korea peninsula (South, not North of course) and now the easy-going vibe of Los Angeles. I’m an advocate of the minimalist lifestyle because I love being able to pack up my things and go in a moment’s notice. I’ve found a great work, life, and spiritual balance that’s ideal for me.

Hi! I’ve always wanted to go to those conventions and I live in Los Angeles, CA, so I was wondering how you were able to know about the convention and if it is open to anyone who can register and pay.

The convention is great. However, it’s only open to people in the industry. You have to supply credentials that they verify to get a ticket. I go as an employee of my mom’s wellness practice. She’s a Traditional Naturopathic Doctor. However, I believe she is going to run a small contest to bring someone along to this years convention in place of me. Long story but you’ll soon see a new post explaining what I’m doing now and some of the changes to Simply Vegan.
